Yeah that's a good idea. I made myself the DD that night so I knew I wouldn't drink. I'm not going to make a habit of hanging out where a lot people are drinking, I think that's just going to make things harder on myself. But if I'm driving and I know I'm not going to the be only sober person there I'm fine.

Hi there,
I'll be thinking about you!

My strategy for dealing with sitautions where others were drinking included calling someone from AA before and after. For the first one I was also fortunate enough to be able to invite my sponsor to come along. I am not sure if you are doing AA. But you could call a sober friend before and after.

This is where a support group like AA can really help. You can gather numbers and talk out strategies in advance.

All my very best xx

Some of the best things about AA for me are the ability to call folks as stated before and after, another great thing is it is the perfect place to make sober friends and have a great time at different AA functions. It is amazing how much fun I have with a bunch of crazy people that are sober!!!

People you can call 24X7 that are glad you called no matter the problem.

Red sounds like you are doing pretty good.
