turned into a sort of journal for me and lots of amazingly nice people posted in it. It was a sort of 'trying to stop drinking' story with all kinds of thrills and spills lol. I like to think it has a happy ending as I am now 4 days sober and have accepted I am an alcoholic who cannot drink again. I am so grateful for all the support and advice, I don't think I would have taken the first step without you all.

I was thinking I might start a sort of journal again if that's OK.

Congrats on accepting your situation, and making a postitive decision about dealing with it. Congrats on your sober time.

I'll be following with interest Stone. You seem like a totally different man compared to the last time I visited? So much more positive and confident? Maybe your failure to moderate / taper (like my own failure) was what made us both accept we are alcoholics? I now understand that accepting that you are an alcoholic has to be the first move. It's a horrible label to give yourself but it's that sinking feeling when no other self diagnosis is available that hopefully leads to the alcoholic getting some control?

Another board oddity, now I can't see a cursor when I edit. I have to press a key before I can see where the type will appear, things are shaky on the HTML front I think.

Hia stone, When I was a kid I wanted to be Mr ben going into the shops back room and entering a fantasy world,then re emerging after a while back into the real world,then doing the same thing the next day.
On reflection i've lived that dream,only my shop was the offy and the back room was the spirits shelf and just like Mr ben I went there every day to enter a fantasy world.
But thankfuly not for today stone.
