need a little advice please
had a very rough time ever the holidays and had a miscarriage. after 31 months of sobriety i went on a 7 day bender. finally fesssed up to my husband and sponser. my kindly old doc prescribed .5mg lorazapam (generic Ativan?) and said to take it as often as needed for the next week. he is a nice guy and all but i think that sounds like a bit much. i have 30 pills but i am sure i will not need all of them. me hospital detox was so long ago that i cannot remember how much they gave me or how often. my sponser is looking for info too so my husband knows what to dole out.
not to be rude but please consider that i do not want to dicuss my miscarriage just this detox.

tikitty condolances amd I will drop that part.
In regards to how much to take? I would call up the place you detoxed and ask them.
If you are like me no matter what the doc says to take it will be as few as possible for the least amount of time possible. I wish you all the best in your recovery, hang in there, sadly relapses do happen to some of us.

Hi Kitty, welcome to SR and recovery once again. Don't get down on yourself, you slipped and now you are back. Important thing is that you caught yourself.
I am sorry for your loss.
In terms of how much to take, I was prescribed Ativan at one point. I was told one pill for sleep. That then leaves what amount are yours. Mine were 25 mg. Keep in mind that Ativan is extremely addictive. The more you take the greater the possibility of dependence.

when i have a question about the safety of a drug i am prescribed, i ask my pharmacist...no one is more knowledgeable about such things...
i am sorry you are going through such a hard time...but you will make it through this...

the med really helped out. none of the shakey stuff i remember from last time
