Talking HELP - newly sober !!! Need Suport !!!

Cant make it to a meeting tonight could use some words of encouragement. Went to detox andinsurance company said I was out of benefits to stay even though my DR, friends and family said it would be better for me to be there. They basically gave me the boot !! Alot of miscommunications at the center but I cant change that so I am out and looking for some encouragement. Working on getting aftercare.

THANK YOU !!

Hello:

If you can't make it to a meeting try reading from the Big Book, Bible or some other inpsirational book. Post some more on here and look for people that you can help. We are all in this together.

My prayers and my best,
Scott

Welcome frstnm...

I'm new myself to this thing called sobriety. I came here myself two weeks ago looking for help, and found more than I expected. I've found supportive people and a few that I consider friends already...

I'm sorry your insurance company is not covering you, but please don't make that an excuse to pick up a drink. Us alcoholics will use any excuse no matter how small to pick up...

Try to catch a meeting tomorrow and hang around here tonight...

Best of luck to you...

One day at a time.

Steve

Welcome frstnm

This is such a great place to learn about recovery & alcoholism The best part of SR is that you get to interact (or not) and go deeper into discussions with a diverse group of alcoholics, and others affected by the disease of alcoholism.

Early sobriety is such a vulnerable time. Please stay around, let us get to know you better.

Tell us a bit about your story....

Well just keep doing what you have to do. There are tons of AA and NA meetings out there that you can go to everyday. I too struggled with my insurance company, but they have really come through.

I too have found a few people that I have really connected with that are helping with my sobriety. I suggest to look at a few threads and find someone that you think shares your situation.

Take Care

Hi frstnm, I am Tazman an alcoholic, I drank for over 40 years and on Dec. the 18th I will celbrate 3 months of sobriety, I did 5 days of de-tox and then rolled into AA. I have truly thrown my self into my recovery because I know my life depends upon it.

There are some great folks here and I have only been here a very short time. This you will find though is similar to an AA meeting, there is an awful lot of loving caring people here who will share with you thier experiences.

Keep as many things as you can between your self and a drink, do things around the house, read, go to meetings, call your sponsor and folks in your network. I hope and pray that you get things worked out with your insurance company.
