Differing points of view
Why is it, that when someone makes a post that differs from the views of those who are orthodox AA, that the AA orthodox types launch personal attacks on that person?
Are they so insecure that they view a different point of view as an attack on their sobriety?
I have been sober many years and these attacks only show me the insecurity of those who launch them. However for those who are newly sober, such attacks may drive them from this board, which I hope we all can agree we don't want.
I thought this forum was for an open exchange, in the interests of helping others, not personal attacks.

Please notify any forum Leader of any personal attacks
by using the PM feature.
I am the Forum Leader here and you have not done this
nor have I seen any post attacking you.
I will close this thread until we can sort this out.
I am sorry for this situation..

I guess sometimes a debate between those who use AA and those who don't gets a little nasty. Not as bad here though as I've seen on other boards. Actually, I've seen quite a few threads here where those in AA and those in other programs or none have been quite civil and supportive of one another.
I think it's only natural to feel a little over "enthusiastic" about which ever support system got you out of the personal hell you were experiencing when using/drinking. It just does get personal sometimes.. the conversation leads to some deep feelings and beliefs.
