I need HELP

Yesterday was a lie!!
A kid I knew put a 45 to his head and ended what should have been a very long and good life.
I lied to my work and my wife so that I could drink!
I am at the stage where I dont know what to do, I need help, but I know if I seek help, everything that I am and have worked for is over.
I can either ask for help and loose everything or wait and maybe get in trouble and loose everything.
I thought I was doing so good, last month I drank only six days which out of thirty was a fifth of what I normally do and then I lost it.
Here I am again, depressed, hurting, unsure....
WHY

Dear tffox444,
I'm sorry for your sadness and trauma.

Sounds like there is a good chance you will lose "everything" either way. So why not choose help (and hope). Things may not turn out how you're dreading they will. Life is funny like that.

Please ask for help.

It doesn't have to be a given, that everything you are and have worked for is over just because you seek help. Beginning recovery does mean that there needs to be changes in one's life, that's for sure. But, it doesn't necessarily mean losing everything you have.

And, in my opinion, recovery and living an honest life, is the most important thing.

I'll second what Anna said - "recovery and an honest life". But I'll add one more thing - a bit of peace. You sound like you could do with some.

but I know if I seek help, everything that I am and have worked for is over.

i don't get it
why?

anyway, you can go to AA
give it a try
no one has to know
and
like,
it happened to me
when you are in the mix of alcoholism
your thinking is impaired
believe me
everyone knows
(family, wife, boss, friends, neighbors
even the chipmunk on the block)
that you have a problem

best

Prayers of comfort for the teens loved ones going out.
And

and if you seek help - the only thing I see as being over is the drinking.
