Hi San Migel. Sorry to hear that you're drinking again.
Here's a link to a thread for recovery programs:http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...-programs.html
Smart Recovery has worked well for me, but I do like to use any method that seems to help me, hence, I'm a participant on several message boards.
Many medications are available to help with quitting, Antabuse,Campral, Naltrexone, and others. Your doctor can help you to decide if these are right for you.
The good news is, you are not alone. Countless people have been where you are and have had success reaching their goals. Group participation with message boards or chat online, and face to face meetings can be very important.
You've taken a first important step by posting here.
Good Luck and Keep Well
Ron

Hi San Migel, sorry to hear that
I don't think anyone here has the power to stop your drinking, although we all hope you will succeed.
Only you have the power to not drink for yourself. There is plenty of help available, medical, spiritual, psychological. But they all start with you.
Please be aware that withdrawals can be very serious and detoxing under medical supervision is much more comfortable. There are inpatient and outpatient centres.
It has to start with you. Is there someone close to you whom you trust that can help you? Contact them.
I'm not sure what detox assistance is available in your area, perhaps others in your area could advise you. If nothing else, you could try going to the ER. They've seen it all and would be a wonderful source of info for you.
Think carefully about where you are right now and where you would prefer to be. Don't dig yourself into a deeper pit. It can only get worse as alcoholism is a progressive disorder that kills.

Hi
don't pick up the first drink, one day at a time. There are AA meetings in Nottingham. Call your local service office on 01159417100. You're right, we have been there. The only drink you can successfully avoid is the next one.

San Migel, I know you may think its not worth trying to stop now. The fact that you are posting here maybe indicates that you would like to stop. It is possible to stop as so many have.
Would you try something?
Try thinking of reasons why you drink. Maybe write these down so you can reread them later. Common ones are I like the effect or It helps me to relax.
Get as personal as you like as no one will read it but you.
Now write down how you think your life would be without drinking. Better health, no hangovers, more money, better job etc.
Still with me? Ok, now write down what the costs of drinking are for you. Things like It costs too much, or it makes me sick, I risk getting a dui.
Now, the last section is the disadvantages of NOT drinking. Be honest. Some things include, it's hard to give up, or I need a drink to stop the shakes.
Take your time and try to write down anything you can think of.
Reread your list several times.
What you've done is a cost benefit analysis. These have helped me in the past, and hopefully it will help you to realize why you drink, and why you would want to stop.
There's plenty of help to stop drinking available, should you choose to go that route. Your doctor can help you as well. When I've gone to my doc in the past in a crisis, I was treated with caring respect, and he helped make my withdrawal much more comfortable.
The ball is in your court, San Migel. I wish you the best.

San Migel, we were posting at the same time.
Going to the ER or seeing a doctor right now is so important.
Call a friend, neighbor, or family. Paul gave you a number for a local service office.--01159417100--
Please call someone.
Hope you make it through this.
