Yeah. you're absolutely right - you don't REALLY know until you try/experience it for yourself. Of course Bill wrote that section at the end of the book and referenced "contempt prior to investigation. " I can tell you for sure I was FULL of contempt prior to investigation. In fact, I typically felt like investigation was somehow below me. I can't imagine how much that fallacious thinking cost me..... Even sometimes now I catch myself in the trap of thinking rather than trying. Thankfully I've had a lot of experience watching myself and inventorying myself so I'm usually pretty good at catching it quickly.

I agree that going to meetings whenever they have one is a great mantra.

When I was early in recovery, I found that speaker meetings really resonated with me.

Now, I like them all.
