Step 3 What does it mean?
Hi Mindfulman,
Although I got sober with AA and Soberrecovery and am an enthusiastic advocate of the AA program and am well aware that the 3 step is a stumbling block for a lot people.
Where I live and work on a rural rehab, I get to see firsthand people's struggle, 24/7 I wish I could offer something else to them but I can only offer my own experience.
I refer people to this site to have a good look around at other methods, other people's experience with those methods.
Eddiebuckle thanks for your great posts, I really loved the quote ate end of your last post. "Hafiz"

Tommyh's post on this thread summed it up perfectly.
So did Fini's.
Taking those plus the words of another's post, how about this:
Use your "inner compass". Not the compass of your mind/ego, but of your true authentic self.
Tap into that resource when you take the rest of the steps.
Do you at least admit that using just willpower, knowledge, or putting your mind to not drinking, will not solve your problem? You would have successfully stopped if it could. We all would've.
