hello

hi

my name is dotcom and im an addict. DOS 01-17-03. awhile ago, i was posting and a member named padawan recommended that i get involved in both na and aa. so let me reintroduce myself....my name is dotcom and im an addict/alcoholic. even though i only crave a smirnoff ice once in a blue moon, its still a potential problem. padawan offered a lot of good info about how i should be open to going to both aa and na meetings, that way ill never be without a meeting to go to. a few weeks ago, i was in that situation. i went to two na meetings in one night, only to find that they were "out of circulation". so here i am. todays 11 months of sobriety from drugs and alcohol. and im going to a meeting tonight. a 12 step. but anyway, just wanted to introduce myself.

In my AA home group we have many alkies-addicts. We meet 16 times a week...NA once.

As the only requirement for AA membership is a desire to quit drinking

we do ask those who share confine their discussion to their problems with alcohol.

Way To Go on your clean time!! :shades:

If you read the Big Book you'll find a story called "Doctor,Alcoholic,Addict".It's gut level honest.

Don't let anyone make you feel unwelcome,or as if you have to keep any part of your story hidden.Just go and be yourself :)

It's been working for me for almost 14 years :D

Welcome dot.com. I am an alcoholic named Angie.
There is no anda Alcohol is a drug YO.
I myself am a addict. But I have found that AA has worked best for me. I went to alot of NA meetings but I found what I needed in AA. We have to do what works for us. It's worked for me almost 6 years. I still go to a NA meeting occasionaly.
Congraulations on your 11 months..

thank you angellily and rotten

i know its an "and" thing....lol. its weird sometimes how you get a different response from people (especially when i, the all too well known tweaker) when you express a desire to be involved in aa and na. i believe its the same enemy, and why be alone when you could be with fellow recoveries!! i have not yet been to an aa meeting now that ive been in recovery. ive been a long time ago back in my using days. unfortunatley, im sick right now and id love to be at either an na or aa meeting. oh yeah, a guy in my 12 step who is an oldy but goody said "individuality is a trigger". i forgot what he said after individ... so i put is a trigger, but i know you know what i mean! lol
