Arrow Big Book Quote

*~*~*~*~*^ Big Book Quote ^*~*~*~*~*

As we go through the day we pause, when agitated or doubtful, and ask for the right thought or action. We constantly remind ourselves we are no longer running the show, humbly saying to ourselves many times each day "Thy will be done." We are then in much less danger of excitement, fear, anger, worry, self-pity, or foolish decisions. We become much more efficient. We do not tire so easily, for we are not burning up energy foolishly as we did when we were trying to arrange life to suit ourselves.

I heard someone in a meeting say, "Pause, breathe, pray"...

I just did this and it was very helpful to me in dealing with a rise in emotions that made me feel upset.

I had to come in to my room, pause when agitated...breathe, pray...

I said the serenity prayer first, and then talked to God a bit about what I was feeling and asked him to help me and to remove it.

I recited some bible verses I knew, and then waited, closed my eyes, and was still for a bit.

It passed...the feelings I thought would not pass were gone. My face which was red hot cooled down...the emotions subsided...and it passed.

Each time I can successfully get through these tough times is growth for sure.

Thanks for that today. I needed it. And I'm not going to do my early sober self-punishment of eating cheesecake, either.
Feelings- what a concept.

very enlightening

I have struggled with this for a while. It does work, though.

Now making it a habit is the next step for me.
