New to this board Hello I am new to this board. I was doing a search one day last month & I came upon this sight coincidentally. I am not new to ACOA I was going to face to face meetings last year/part of this year for 9 months but when it came time to get a sponser everyone said that they did not have experience so I decided I had to find a new group. I wasn't able to find a new ACOA group they are scarce in the part of the county I live in so I joined a Codependents Anonymous groups online which I love but I always am looking for new groups to join. I am 37, have 3 active alcoholics in my life (my parents & my youngst brother) I try not to associate with them too much but I do call occasionally and I see them at Christmas time. Well I will keep this short for now. Melissa P. |
Welcome Melissa I am sure you will find this site as wonderful as I have found it. Your screen name brought me to your message. I have a Boston myself and I live in Boston from where they first came. You have any pups? *LOL* I will be looking for a male shortly. |
Welcome aboard Melissa :-) Feel free to jump in and post anytime. No pups over here, we're cat people. But we get along ok with dog people :-) Mike :-) |
Hi Melissa! Welcome to the board. There are only a few ACOA meetings near me also. Luckily, I really like the one I found. This is a great place to post. Everyone is very supportive. |
Melissa welcome to SR! I have an alcoholic father, 2 husbands and a son so I know what you are talking about. I love that you found ACOA but I know that is hard to come by. Al Anon happened to be where I ended up..same 12 steps, same program and it saved my life. Make yourself at home! JT |
Welcome Melissa!! Good to have you here. :wavey: Chess |
