I was diagnosed as bipolar today, after seeing a psychiatrist for many yrs of treating generalized anxiety disorder. Mixed feelings. Anyone have experience with this issue?

No, but I wonder if you would improve by distancing yourself further from your Mom. You are only human, after all, and can only take so much.

Thank you I am inevitably growing very distant from her. However, as she controls the family, unfortunately distancing her is distancing my father and older sister as well. I hadn't considered the possibility of losing all three until now.
