alcoholism - generational gender switch? I read in a psychology book that alcoholism tends to switch gender with each new generation....so the daughters of an alcoholic Father will be more likely/prone to become alcoholics than the sons. How true that is in the general population, I don't know.....but certainly in my family, it applies. Is it true in your family? |
OMG!!! Not in my FOO. Nearly everyone, male and female, has a drug or alcohol issue. |
too funny....no its run rampid cross both sexes for generations. Bet there werent any studies to back that up. its a 50/50 chance lets face it. |
interesting...... paternal grandfather = alcoholic father = alcoholic my younger brother = totally anti-alcohol (has never even tried it, refuses to go near it! mother= totally anti-alcohol (I don't think she has ever had more than a sip) total co-dependent, but she was "stern?" She was the one that wore the pants in the family me= social drinker (I rarely drink) |
