Personal Literature I know that there are a ton of books out there written by psychologists, but I was wondering if there was anything written by fellow ACOAs. That, and I was also wondering if anyone knows of any informational type books. So far I haven't personally seen books, shows, anything really, that spread knowledge and awareness about the effects of alcoholism on children and loved ones (besides obviously AA and meetings of that sort). Thanks in advance. |
I don't know of any, but was thinking of writing one myself. Here is a very informative blog by an ACOA... GUESS WHAT NORMAL IS: Book of Note - Wayne Kritsberg's 'The Adult Children of Alcoholics Syndrome: A Step-by-Step Guide to Discovery and Recovery' |
Here's a really good one: "The Complete ACOA Sourcebook: The Child of Alcoholics at Home, at Work, and in Love" by Janet Woititz. Shared it with my therapist and she is using it with many of her other patients as well. |
