Hello, I am new to this site. I have been looking for a place to deal with ACOA issues.
I am a recovering alcoholic, sober a little over three years. I had to deal with my alcoholism before I could even begin to deal with my childhood issues.
I am looking forward to sharing my experience, strength, and hope, and learning from others who are finding a new way of life through recovery.
Blessings to you all,
CAJ

Welcome to the SR family! SR has truly been instrumental in my recovery from codependence (which led to my current work on ACoA). Much wisdom to be found here!
Hey there CAJ, and welcome to this wonderful website. I'm a recovering alkie also, took me a few years of sobriety before the ol' braing was suficiently un-pickled to be able to look at this stuff.
Check out the stickies at the top of this forum, lost of good stuff there.

Meetings
There are no ACOA or CODA groups in my area. I am thinking about going to some Al-Anon meetings along with AA.
Right now I am struggling with boundries, internal and external. I have made a decision to let my sisters take care of their own issues with my mom, while I take care of myself with her. This has stopped a lot of the chaos that was going on in my head.
I have also left an abusive relationship but still have the hangover effect (guilt, second guessing, etc.)
But things are better.
