I am grateful to be able to decide when I want to go to bed. Does this sound odd?

After nearly a quarter of a century of waking up in a chair in front of the TV or with a book fallen to the floor beside me and the remnants of the last drink spilled down my shirt, it is sheer bliss to do the following:
1. Feel sleepy (because it is late)
2. Get up from where I am
3. Walk to the bedroom.
4. Get into bed.
5. Fall asleep (eventually).

This simple process, that so many normal sober people take for granted, is such a wondrous novelty to me, such a gift, that I actually look forward to it through the evening.
Crazy, yes?
