7 years today

7 years today, I miss nothing about my drinking life. It has been a long and tough road but sobriety has been nothing compared to the heartache, anxiety, health, legal issues I had while drinking. I am living proof that the slave to the bottle lifestyle is one of misery and to be honest pathetic. I see so many people who can't do anything without drinking being involved. I was one of those people seven years ago. I finally after many false starts made one big difference in my sobriety plan. I made a mental decision that I wasn't interested in drinking anymore. I didn't quit because someone told me to do it, I quit because I was sick of the lifestyle. Once I made that commitment I gradually recovered. Was it easy? No it wasn't. Was it instant happiness and joy? No it wasn't, but it didn't take long to see improvements in my life and now I can't imagine how ridiculous I was during my drinking days.
