When we lived in the north we had a bunny nest on our lawn, a little shallow hole with 4 babies, covered with grass and straw. I read about baby bunnies and learned that you could put the cover back if the wind blew it off and mama would still come....but...mama bunnies don't nurture, they come and nurse a few times a day and once the babies can climb out of the nest, they are on their own. It's nature's plan.
But it made me think of how much bunnies love being held and nurturing even by humans. Not wild bunnies, they are best left alone or put food out for them and let them be. But some bunnies just love being held.
