I've certainly seen that poem a zillion times in my life, to the point where I often don't even really hear or see it, but today for some reason, it just touched me. Maybe it was the picture of the man w/his horse and sleigh that made the difference.
The only other sound’s the sweep |
Of easy wind and downy flake.
made me hear so clearly the soft, deep silence that you only hear in woods while it's snowing. I could almost feel the snow on my face and the cold of the air as I breathed in.
As I say, I've seen the poem a zillion times, but today
it touched me...
