I was diagnosed with depression long before I was drinking. After I got sober, it was a lot better cause my antidepressants could work as they should without my drinking a depressant all day.

I am grateful for my antiD's and my doctor who prescribed them. It makes a huge difference in my life, for the better.

I don't think that taking meds precludes the brain healing from substance abuse. If you had a headache, you might take ibuprofen for it and not worry about it interfering with the brain healing.

I think rest, good food, and enough exercise will go a long way to heal the brain and body.

I hope you find some relief.
I'd rather live in my car with my dogs than live in a castle without them.

Dogs may not be our whole lives, but they make our lives whole.
