I think it says you are a sensitive caring woman with principles.
I understand how you feel....and I know you would have your friend's back, and I totally understand how hurtful the whole situation is.
My best friend from 10-21 dumped me viciously, it was brutal, and then my older sister became close with her and her new husband (also one of my oldest friends)...I was shattered....couldn't understand how my sis could do this to me....but the husband became close with my sis' husband, and she just really didn't have a choice without it being all drama drama....in fact, I just watched the video from her big birthday bash (Sat night) and my old best friend is front and centre....
It took years for me to get over. And I don't think anything was wrong with me that it hurt so much, and years ago I kind of made her talk to me again...the ex best friend...I just shamed her into it by being nice to her every time I saw her at my sister's house.
