Well infected hand post surg (4w ago) has floored me this week, plus the side after effects of the gen anaesth used for it(had 20 procedures- with lots of anaesth 3.5y ago- messes my brain), Very sore, very tired- but thankful I can face all of this without using codeine, or booze- or any nasty chemicals (except coffee and ciggies). The concept of recovery is real- as real today as it was when I woke from a coma. Without it I am nothing, with it- I am growing. I remember to do the HALTS stuff, especially rest-eat-hydrate, and I know what NOT to do. As natural as breathing and just as necessary. There is NO event, thought or feeling which booze will ever, ever, EVER help me.
So 24 more for me and support to y'all.
