You’ve gotten good advice already. If this friend didn’t express a desire to quit then I think all you can do is let him know you are here to help if he needs support to get clean. I don’t know what your relationship is but I’d take care not to lend $, etc. because it is not really helping the way it sounds like you want to help. And come post here for support often.
