I’m doing fine, Anna, thank you.

I am up in Central PA with my husband, kids, grandkids, and in-laws.

Not a bucket list trip for me, but very sentimental to my husband and kids.

My mother-in-law inherited her modest childhood home. It was built from wood by her great grandfather in 1889 and passed down to her great uncle, her parents, and then her.

My husband has fond memories of stopping in to visit his grandparents on his way to and from college. While there he always sat in the recliner and watched The Incredible Hulk on TV.

My in laws are now in their 80s. They would have liked to pass the house on to one of her kids, but all of them are settled in homes of their own—and, though my father in law has put a lot of work into modernizing the house and making it safe, it still is worth less than the cost it would take to maintain it.

Sentimental though the kids are, none of them are willing to take it on.

So my in laws are selling it.

This week is the last hurrah for the kids to come say goodbye to the house (and for me, perhaps my final visit with my in laws).
