For me surrender (in an AA sense) was allowing my actions to be guided by a power greater than myself. At first this power was the suggestions of the

Drunks I found in AA meetings. As my conception of a higher power evolved I came to play by better rules
The question was not one of giving up my will (my power to choose) but to allow it to be guided by a force greater than myself.
