My boyfriend is Sicilian and made homemade pizzas for about four couples and their kids.
I came over a little bit earlier before the company came and told him to please not drink in front of me alone and to please not offer me a drink .
He honored that and then the booze was flowing for the guests. Oddly, it didn’t bother me. I looked at them through a lense that was not clouded by AV. Clear, you might say.
I left early, and have no regrets about going.
Weird, but great. Not complacent by any means, but very grateful.
