LOL, C2. We don't have sea urchins in the frigid north Pacific...I'm a scuba diver and I've only ever seen them in warm water.

This thing was 200 feet above sea level in the forest and it was definitely a plant/cone. You probably can't really blow up that image, but I can on my phone - it is two ended and detached from a plant. I didn't sniff it and I left it where it was. Those spines looked like pine needles up close.
