The way those discussions predictibly end is that the alcoholics insist they are the ones to determine if they are sober or not and for how long and a few sipsies are not going to change that and no one is going to tell them differently, and who made up all these silly rules anyway?

Not worth getting into it with them, ever. Nature takes it's course sooner or later.
