The UK doesn't really do 'rehab' unless you're a rich celebrity. They advise cutting down/tapering because they medically can't advise cold turkey. The support service I was referred was OK but never told me outright I had to stop or that it needed to be permanent. I worked that out for myself though (with help from SR) . Because I'd stopped at various times before with no really bad effects I just did it again but his time for good (well 4 months and counting ...)
