The distinction is important because you can change your thoughts but not really your sensations You could say for example that I don't "crave" a drink, I
want a drink, which I think is actually a more accurate description. You can then reassess things and decide, for example, that you don't really want to drink but would prefer to be sober and clear-headed instead.
