I think it is great that you are self aware enough to realize that your drinking problem will soon get worse, and are cutting it off before it gets there.
Unlike you, I never did what you are doing even though I knew I had a problem. Ignorantly I thought I was bigger/better then that. I was very wrong.
Take this opportunity to nip this before you spend years trying to control it. Cause I let you in on a secret. You can't.
