I did have high blood pressure which spiked at the end of my drinking days, but after being sober for about 8 months it improved a lot. (I had to find another doctor who understood addiction and mental illness.) I don't have a car so I ride my bike everywhere and practice yoga and meditation and my health in general has gotten much better--during 26 months of sobriety I've lost 70 lbs and my bp last it was checked was 109/68.
