My experience with tapering and then quitting were like posts #16 & 17. Lots of hallucinations.

Go to a regular GP, tell them your story. Referrals are up to them.

You can get a week's worth of inexpensive meds to help you get off the drink safely and completely without all the symptoms if they are in fact only withdrawal. Why don't you do that? All this fear isn't good for you regardless of the cause. Just go to the doctor. They've seen it all before.
I am still tapering. When you say lots of hallucinations... came and went, did you treat them when they came, how long did they typically last? Did they start like mine.

Did you have the delusions with them I read about?

Did you have other symptoms? Could you feel them coming on?

I have 3 more doc appointment coming up but I am sacred like I have never been in my 65 years.
