I would just add an AA based word of caution....the "geographical cure" can be a good thing, but it doesn't change the fact that our alcoholism comes with us.
This is very, very true. I've moved across the country more than a few times, and it's always come with me. This time, I'm doing work to change things, not just location. My girlfriend and family are very supportive and I'm getting out of the industry I was in. Healthy choices, and trying to deal with the root causes of what was driving me to drink.
