Be who you are. To thine own self be true.

Gemini hippie-chick catlady Jesus freak feminist you're-not-the-boss-of-me? You mean like that?

I found one thing in sobriety. Labels are horrible. I mean, sure we all have quirks and personality tendencies. I don't know about all these mental health labels, though. Humans are quirky. I should know, I live in the land of quirk. I love that about the PNW; It's just plain weird here.

When I was drinking I was much more mean-spirited, though. I used to say, "Just kidding!" a lot - to smooth over one of my snarky comments. I think it was a way to be one-up on people. I don't really like that about myself and I try to be more gentle and a tiny bit more humble. It's a process though. Just yesterday I had to argue that someone was wrong - of course thereby making me right. *sigh* That was my 10th Step Inventory. I'm not even in AA, but I do see the value in the steps. Selfishness, that is the root of all our problems...(or something like that, right?)

*Ring *Ring.
