And at 58 I can finally see that I probably won’t end up a bag lady under a bridge even if I don't accept all that extra stress. Unless I drink...in which case I had better start shopping bridges.
I'm with you both. I'm trying to retire within 2.5 years, early at 56,
as "the extra stress" part is finally beginning to get to me big time.
That and some of the "clever" folk we've hired of late can't seem
to find their azz with both hands in terms of how to behave
with courtesy towards others.
It's been a rough week in particular so far, but still sober
I've spent years working to get a promotional track added to my academic rank,
and now I just don't care to do all the work to apply.
But, other people down the road will benefit, and that means a lot
However, all the years of hard work and getting it somewhat together by quitting drinking
have paid off and hopefully I will be in a lake house and not under a bridge, unless I'm fishing.
That's the plan, anyhow. . .
