You've made a good decision and you should not question it for one second. I mean, if you're like most of us, you understand that falling back to addiction could mean, without any hyperbole or exaggeration, your death. And if not death, it could easily result in loss of job, loss of critical relationships and other horrible consequences. When presented in those - completely accurate - terms, this decision is not a difficult one. Don't second guess your decision. Don't go.

BTW - I was not familiar with the phrase "Christmas do." A little cultural education is good! I wanted to add a little humor and say "don't do the do," but I'm not sure if that makes sense in this context.
