Gabapentin is an anti-epileptic medication, also called an anticonvulsant. It affects chemicals and nerves in the body that are involved in the cause of seizures and some types of pain. Like lots of other meds, research shows it can be helpful for other conditions. I've used Gabapentin (Neurontin) and so has my wife for radiating nerve pain. It helped both of us.
