I don't have glasses, but I did learn of an interesting way, other than the pinhole view, of seeing the eclipse happen indirectly.

The shadow cast by the moon will leave a crescent shape on the shadows on the ground. If you turn your back to the sun, spread your fingers wide and place one hand on top of the other (not sure why that's part of the instruction), the shadows you see on the ground will be crescent shaped.

Illustrating this idea, I saw a photo of the shadows cast by tree leaves on the ground. It was taken during an eclipse. Each tree leaf shadow seemed to have a crescent aspect to it.

I'll definitely be outside checking it out while it's happening even if I can't look directly at the sun!
