I have a catchphrase I have adopted in sobriety - "I refuse to sink." I have a bracelet, mug, and soon to be tattoo with that phrase, and a picture of an anchor. The anchor signifies that I will stay firm and strong, and not go drifting off into the storm, where my little sobriety boat would surely get swamped and sink. So if I ever feel like I'm about to get into trouble (not just with drinking), I look at my bracelet and repeat "I refuse to sink" in my head.
