Just a vent...
When I started getting serious about sobriety back in 2013 I opened up to my younger brother. During those discussions I was surprised when he told me his long-time boyfriend was having alcohol issues. Over the years he texts me from time to time to tell me what new approach the BF is taking - usually something involving a moderation attempt. If it is an attempt to stop altogether, they are typically short-lived. They all fail quickly, of course.
He texted me yesterday to say BF's drinking has gone "next level" this summer. They just took a vacation together and BF wrecked it with his non-stop drinking.
It breaks my heart my brother is dealing with this, and puts a different perspective on what I was putting my family through for years and years.
