Adapting to change

Alcoholism changes you. Changes your thoughts, beliefs, habits, perspective...

Dissimilar of the change that trauma, loss, aging all brings us, but all of it is change in that it is life-altering just as being sober introduces change.

Extremely 'uncomfortable', especially in a short span of years to force yourself to adjust and just embrace so much of it.

Although I'm a fan of quotes related to positivity and the need to take action in our lives every day...some days, like today for instance...the simple logic to 'go search for happy' just won't suffice.

I don't feel strong today. Sober, yes. And I will fall asleep that way because if I let today win, there's no telling the outcome, but it would be close to horrific. So I push through.

For all you/us on SR, how do you adapt to the changes in your lives? Difficult, easy, embattled?
