Five (5!!!) years sober today
Just wanted to reach out with a quick note of gratitude to everyone here at SR!
I was confused, angry, and desperate when I first found this website almost 5 years ago. Today I can happily celebrate the fact that it's been 5 years since my last drink. I posted this in the newcomer's forum because there might be some folks on Day 5 instead of Year 5. Congrats to you! We all started somewhere. Have faith in yourself, and stay true to yourself. Remember the reasons you want to be sober. And don't forget to dream about all you'll achieve once you get comfortable in sobriety. Keep your goals reasonable and achievable, take small steps as you go....in a year you'll look back and see you've climbed a mountain. The sky's the limit. You can do this!
