Wow, you got some great advice here overnight! That's great!!!
Mental wellness is of supreme importance, try not to be fearful. Consider it as signing up for a gym. Except your going to get your mind in shape.
As someone very astutely said, which .going to butcher now bc I don't remember their exact wording, PTSD is no joke.
It is very common. In the US people with service animals are everywhere!
It's a breath of fresh air that mental illnesses are losing the stigma. Much like addiction. Wonderful bc people need help!

Take a deep breath and look at this as positively as you possibly can. You will be getting better and feeling better. What a relief. Alcohol only makes things worse. I was drinking to forget my problems and then alcohol became a bigger problem then all my original ones.
