Welcome to Weekenders Daveman! Having a something to do that occupies your mind is great for defeating cravings. On a more general level if you have things to to at the weekend that also reduces the amount of idle time you have to think about drinking. In the long tern we do need to relax but staying active really helps in early recovery when the AV is at its worst.
