tom, just wondering... you hadn't talked to him in 7 months. Then you get together & you're you, straight, not partaking, you-wonderful-you, friend in need etc. Then all of a sudden he's wasted and reaching out again. Maybe he's unconsciously looking for more help than just truck-fixing? (not to minimize truck-fixing)
Or, maybe he just plain misses you.
