Dealing with crisis...sober.

Like many people I drank "at" things. I drank at good news, bad news, successes, failures and problems. The alcohol never fixed a single thing, in fact, it made most of them worse.

Recently I have been dealing with one of my bigger crisis's to date. I am trying to save my house. I got hurt badly 2 years ago and had to sell my business. I have not worked in almost two years. I've had some pretty intense phone conversations with the bank, loan officers, credit specialists and so on. It has not been fun and very stressful. But with some perseverance and remaining calm I believe we have succeeded. Not only in saving our house but in cashing out some much needed equity. I'm not entirely out of the woods but very close. It's a far cry from 2 weeks ago when I was served with papers notifying me of the Sheriff's sale of my home.

This would not have happened if I was still drinking. Instead I would be pissed off and packing boxes. Sobriety is a real advantage in life.
