After my dr gave me a year, 18 mo to live if I kept going like I was, I quit last Feb at 39. Celebrated 40 sober and it was fantastic. At almost a year, I know only sober birthdays are ahead and am very grateful.
It takes what it takes to get each of us to the quitting point, and it is certainly not to late at 40. Good luck.
