weeellll....statements and messages neither got nor kept me sober.
but the one that had the most impact on me (because it contradicted entirely what i had wrongly believed the AA message to be) was this:
"To show other alcoholics precisely how we have recovered is the main purpose of this book."
message being: we can and do recover.
